Cloud & Systems Engineer Intern

About This Position:

FieldStack is delighted to offer paid summer software internships at our home office in Portland, ME. Interns at FieldStack are highly interactive with staff and spend the summer learning about and contributing to our Cloud Infrastructure.

In addition, interns will learn about best practices, industry standards and receive aid to receive Azure related certifications. FieldStack’s services are a mix of hosted on premises and Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Any number of things — depends on where your skills are the strongest
  • Implementing new Cloud Resources and Infrastructure
  • Assisting in the migration from local to cloud resources
  • Create internal applications to monitor metrics of cloud resources
  • Create and alter CI/CD pipelines
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues with Cloud Infrastructure
  • Documenting new and existing infrastructure
  • Creating internal tools and scripts to assist in future deployments
  • Assisting in the planning of disaster recovery and failover scenarios
  • Assist in training other members of the team of actions and flows that may change during the migration to cloud services
  • Research and document new tools that will help aid business operations

Suggested Experience and Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of tools and services such as Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CICD platforms, Python, Java, C#, Azure DevOps, Jira, Powershell, Bash, DNS, or DHCP
  • Experience with network fundamentals
  • Computer and networking troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Unix or Windows administration and system monitoring
  • Microsoft AD or AAD
  • SCCM, Apple JAMF or other MDM platforms
