Meet Walter: FieldStack’s Favorite Demo Co-Host

Every demo needs a good host — or in our case, a co-host with four legs, a wagging tail, and a knack for winning over a room. Meet Walter, the happy-go-lucky pup who joined FieldStack in 2024 and quickly became the unofficial face (and paws) of PetStack.

A Career Built on Belly Rubs
Walter’s resume may not include retail data or POS systems, but don’t let that fool you. After a short career in belly rub solicitation, he transitioned seamlessly into office life. These days, his skills continue to evolve — mostly in the areas of snack acquisition and convincing coworkers to throw a ball.

The Office Energizer
What Walter lacks in attention span, he makes up for in energy. Every morning he's in the office, he makes his rounds to greet the team (and collect his treat from HR). From there, his day includes a balanced mix of napping under desks, napping during client calls, and occasionally napping in the middle of the floor.
When he’s not asleep, Walter’s always ready to spark a quick zoomie session or provide stress relief in the form of a fluffy belly rub.
Visitors Welcome (After the Sniff Test)
Visitors to the office can expect a ball of white fluff approaching them upon arrival, ears pinned back and eager to make a new friend. First comes the sniff test. Then, the Walter stamp of approval. After that, he’ll follow you around for the rest of your visit, doing his best to be helpful along the way.
The Tennis Ball Situation
Walter has one serious vice: tennis balls. When our marketing team ordered a batch of FieldStack-branded balls for clients, Walter destroyed five in a single day. His dad had to intervene before we ran through the entire supply. His rule is simple: once the ball is broken, he’s no longer interested. (Efficiency is key, after all.)
Above: Walter often likes to pose for pictures at home to share with the team when he's not in the office.
Lessons from Walter
Walter might not understand unified retail and data, but he knows a good pet store when he sees one: shelves stocked, treats in reach, and friendly faces all around. In his own way, he reminds us that retail — like office life — is all about connection and trust.
And if Walter had advice for other office dogs — or even humans — it would be this: stay curious, be friendly, and find joy wherever you go.
